Like most artists, music is an integral aspect of my creative process. I always want to fuse things, so I had this idea to put on an exhibit that intermingled a band’s live performance with my interpretations of the music. I pitched that idea to the Skirts and they bit.
 
The band passed demos to me as they were recording songs for their sophomore album and I built a narrative around the tracks. For each song, there‘s a 2’ x 2’ acrylic painting that propels the story.
 
Due to scheduling, there was no rockart show (sadface). Instead, the paintings were exhibited at a listening party and seven of the twelve pieces were used for the album design.
 
Also, the design won “Best Album Cover Art” at the Flagpole awards. Flagpole is a big deal in Athens. Go Dawgs.
